WTC- Test Championship.. Good luck to the Indian team.. All you need to do to advance to the final

Adelaide: What does the Indian team need to do to advance to the final match of the 2025 World Test Championship series?

How many wins does the Indian team need? How many wins does the Indian team need depending on the wins and losses of other teams? Let's take a detailed look at this.

The 2025 World Test Championship series has reached its final stage. Only the top two teams in the points table will qualify for the final to be held in July next year. There are four teams in the competition for that, namely India, Australia, Sri Lanka, and South Africa.

Earlier, the Indian team could only qualify for the final if it won four matches in the Australian Test series. However, now the victory in the first Test match against South Africa and Sri Lanka, and the victory in the first Test against England and New Zealand, are in India's favor.

Currently, if the Indian team wants to be in the top two places in the 2025 World Test Championship points table, it will have to win at least three matches and draw two matches in the current five-match Australian Test series.

Even if India wins four matches and draws one match, it will qualify for the final. Similarly, if India wins four matches and loses one match or wins all five matches in the series, the Indian team will advance to the World Test Championship final.

If India wins three matches and loses one or more matches in the Australian series, the situation will be complicated. In that case, the Indian team will have to depend on the wins and losses of other teams.

If India wins three matches, loses one match and draws one match, South Africa must win the second match of the Test series against Sri Lanka. Only then will India qualify for the final.

Similarly, if India wins three matches and loses two matches in the Australian series, Sri Lanka must draw at least one match in the series against Australia.

If India next wins two matches in the series against Australia, loses two matches and draws one match, South Africa must defeat Sri Lanka in both Tests. Next, Sri Lanka must win the series against Australia 1-0. Only then will India qualify for the final.

Based on these details, if India wins the Australia series 3-1, it will be easy for them to advance to the final. If India wins more than that, it will be even easier for them to advance to the final. However, if they lose two matches, their dream of reaching the final will become complicated.
