Junior Hockey Women Asia Cup: Indian Crew, Timetable, Where to Watch

The Women's Junior Asia Cup 2024 is being held in Muscat, Oman, from December 7 to December 15, 2024. This tournament serves as a qualifying event for the 2025 FIH Hockey Junior World Cup. The top five teams from this competition will secure a spot in the World Cup.

Teams and Groups

A total of 10 teams are participating, divided into two groups:

Group A: India, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Bangladesh

Group B: South Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka

The Junior Women's Hockey Asia Cup will kick off tomorrow with ten teams participating in the continental showpiece.

The Junior Asia Cup is a qualifying event for the FIH Junior World Cup.

Defending champions India will be in Pool A and fa

In Pool A, the Indian Junior Women's team will face China, Malaysia, Thailand, and Bangladesh, while Pool B will feature South Korea, Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka.

The Indian Junior Women’s Team will be led by Captain Jyoti Singh, with Sakshi Rana serving as Vice-Captain.

India has five players who featured in the Asian Champions Trophy winning squad last month.

Player of the tournament at WACT 2024, forward Deepika will India's main source of goals given her dragflicking prowess.

 The likes of Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke, Sunelita Toppo, and Beauty Dung Dung will use their experience from the senior team to help India in defending the title.

Defenders: Manisha, Jyoti Singh, Lalthantluangi, Pooja Sahoo, Mamata Oram.

Midfielders: Vaishnavi Vitthal Phalke, Sunelita Toppo, Ishika, Rajni Kerketta, Sakshi Rana, Khaidem Shileima Chanu.

Forwards: Deepika, Beauty Dungdung, Kanika Siwach, Mumtaz Khan, Lalrinpuii.

Alternate Players: Binima Dhan, Himanshi Sharad
